Memorial Day Weekend 2011

We spend Memorial Day Weekend out at the farm this year.

I had graduation on Sunday,
so we headed out Saturday afternoon.
William's birthday was Thursday and Grace's was coming up the following week.

So, we were able to celebrate their birthdays!

When we first got out there,
the girls thought it would be fun to dress up
in my old bridesmaid dresses.

Wouldn't this be cute if they are all in each other's weddings?

Amelia...

Claire...

The weather on Saturday was pretty nice -
after a storm almost went right over us.

We watched rotation in the clouds,
but everything missed the farm by about 1/2 a mile.
Not even any rain!

So, then it was time for some swinging...

Later in the afternoon, Blake and his dad came over!

Grandma had the great idea to get the water balloons out!

Watch out, Grandpa!

It took all 6 cousins to fill up a balloon...

We ate dinner and then it was time for some presents!

William and his Buzz...

Gracie and one of her presents...

After cake, we headed outside for some more water balloons
and a bonfire with S'Mores!

Our first S'Mores of the season.
Amelia...

Paige...
{Notice the wet hair from the water balloons!}

Then I played around with my camera a little.
Uncle Gary showed me how to do a little back lighting,
or whatever it's called.
Can you see the Gibbon watertower through the trees?

And a picture of Grandpa's new cows.
Here's our meat for the winter! :)

Then we headed in for some glo-stick fun!...

On Monday, we drove into Gibbon
and attended the Memorial Day service there.
The Gibbon band played - so that meant Gpa and Gma P blew their horns.
Then, the kids that were in attendance
walked around during the last song and waived their flags.

And then we took a picture with one of our favorite veterans -
Great Uncle Gary!

And of course, we thought about our favorite hero all day!
Dad!
Who will be home this following week for his 2 week R&R.
Yay! We can't wait.

LOVE the pics Heidi! I am thinking we should take the girls to the pool sometime soon since it is so unbearably hot!
