A Few Days at the Candee Cabin

Last week
we were very fortunate to stay
at an awesome lake cabin!

We headed up Tuesday
and arrived around 3:30 pm.

This was what was waiting for us!

Phew!

After about 4 hours on the road,
we made it to Lake Belle Taine!

We had 3 very happy girls...

Who were super excited to jump in the water!

But, it was a little chilly,
and very overcast.

So, we just walked down to the lake
and on the dock for a little while.

There were fuzzy caterpillars
ALL OVER!

The girls tested out the water.
It was a little cool
and VERY high!

Last year when we went,
there was a little beach.

This year,
the water covered the beach.

Claire,
relaxing at the end of the dock...

A sweet smile from Sophie...

The girls called the
Ninja Room
for the 3 nights we stayed there...

It worked PERFECT!

And we were able to read lots of good books -
before bed and during the day...

Wednesday it rained.
ALL DAY!

So, we brought some paper and colors
and did a lot of coloring that day!

And then when we got bored of coloring,
we read.

And when we were bored of reading,
we watched a movie on the laptop...

Around 3:00 it stopped raining.
Or so we thought.

We attempted to get out in the lake a little bit.
The girls tried out their noodles.
And then after about 30 minutes,
it started misting again!

Oh well...

We got a little splashing in.
And Claire and Sophie had fun searching for sea shells...

Thursday it did not rain.
But, it was cloudy and a chilly 60-65 degrees all day.

So, we played on the damp swingset in the morning...

And then we headed to Park Rapids for the afternoon.
We visited a fun park.
The girls tried go-carts for the first time!
All the pics are on Paige's camera,
and I still need to download those.

After the fun park,
we drove up to Bemidji for the evening
and had dinner with my good friends
Tiff & Tony and their family.

Friday morning we packed up and headed to Fargo for the wedding.
Even though it was rainy/dreary all week,
we sure enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lake country.
And we had lots of good family bonding time!

Thank you to the Candee's for so
generously allowing us to stay at the cabin for the few days.
We immensely enjoyed ourselves
and hope that we can hang out with you up there sometime soon!
