Jay and Ally's Wedding

:: Saturday, August 4th, 2012 ::

Jay and Ally tied the knot!

 

We drove up to Walker on Friday the 3rd - 

just in time for the rehearsal.

After the rehearsal, 

we drove out to the Candee cabin on Lake Belle Taine

for the groom's dinner. 

It was a nice afternoon/evening 

but you could see the clouds building up in the southwest.

So, we ate a fabulous grilled dinner of ribs

and corn on the cob and yummy salads

and then got the heck out of dodge around 8:30 pm.

As soon as we got back to our room in Walker,

it was downpouring!

The girls stated that did not need a bath anymore

because they were so wet!

Saturday morning we woke up,

got everyone ready,

and headed out to Forestedge Winery for the ceremony.

It was a little sketchy, with sprinkles off and on.

But they lucked out and it was perfect throughout the ceremony and reception!

 This was before the bus ride to the ceremony,

out on the dock with Leech Lake behind the kids.

  

Seriously.

These two were too cute for words.

They did such a good job at the ceremony and reception!

There was lots and lots of visiting, 

wine and beer drinking,

and cheese and cracker eating

at the reception!

Mitch made it home just in time!

His flight got in at 1:00 pm on Thursday the 1st.

So, he wasn't even home 24 hours

before we packed up and headed up north!

 

  

The reception and dance was a lot of fun.

Lots of dancing and visiting!

Sophie learned the spoon trick.

I think she looked like this for an hour!

What a beautiful weekend

with a beautiful bride and groom!

We all had a blast

and of course the weekend went way too fast!

We hung out Sunday afternoon around Chase on the Lake

and then headed to Mitch's aunt and uncle's condo on the lake for a few days.
